Les Miserables is the story of the power struggle between Jean Valjean and the Police Inspector Javert over a period of 20 years. Far beneath the majesty and splendour of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful student Christine is so strong that even her heart cannot resist. Adapted from Gaston Leroux's classic novel of mystery and suspense, The Phantom of the Opera features some of Andrew Lloyd Webbers best known music including All I Ask of You and The Music of the Night. The musical opened at Her Majesty’s Theatre in October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles and there have been dozens of productions worldwide since then. Now in its 31st record-breaking year, The Phantom of the Operacontinues to captivate audiences at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End, after more than 15,000 performances. The current Phantom London cast features Ben Lewis in the title role with Kelly Mathieson as Christine and Jeremy Taylor as Raoul. Amy Manford plays Christine at certain performances.
